Delta Govt Charges MDAs On Quality Services For MORE Agenda Growth

Delta State Government has charged the state Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to do more than their projects’ baseline to project the MORE agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration in the state.
The Senior Policy Adviser, (SPA) to the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon gave the charge at an interactive section and presentation of copies of Servicom document to the State Project Coordinator of Delta State NEWMAP/EIB, Mr. Benedict Nwaokocha, on Tuesday in Asaba.
Funkekeme, who was in company of the Director, SERVICOM and Labour Relations, Mrs. Uche Onwusanya, said every political appointee and public servant in the state must see themselves as vision helpers to deliver on the MORE agenda mantra as promised deltans by the Oborevwori administration in the State.
The SPA, supervising SERVICOM Project Services in the State, said those in the business of the present administration must acknowledge the paradigm shift from the SMART agenda of former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration to the MORE agenda of Governor Oborevwori’s administration to entrust the promise of “more” that he promised deltans during his electioneering campaigns.
“Under the MORE agenda, you are expected to achieve more, that is what it means; because it is a covenant. So, how do you achieve more for deltans? You have to think outside the box. We cannot do more if all of us are not in the matter; if all of us are not aware that there is a paradigm shift from the SMART agenda of immediate past administration to MORE agenda of the present administration.
So, if there are impediments in service delivery and we are not aware; how do we intervene? This is where SERVICOM comes in, and you are expected to provide good quality services for the growth of the MORE agenda.
Also, SERVICOM mandates you to be transparent by publishing your service charter; the kind of service you do should be known to deltans so that they can access it and seek help where necessary. So, we have come here today to refresh our minds of what SERVICOM is all about and relaunch it here in NEWMAP, with you (Project Coordinator) as the Chief Service Provider that would be held accountable for service quality”.
The Senior Policy Adviser said the presentation of the SERVICOM to the Office of NEWMAP was for the agency to device a new way of doing things by responding timely to the rehabilitation of gully erosion within its mandate areas in the state.
He said the state governor would be rated by deltans based on the promises of his MORE agenda whether he was fair for deltans as the state approaches 2027, urging the agency to respond positively, timely, fairly and be honest in the execution of projects in ensuring that the three senatorial districts of the state are fairly covered to justify Governor Oborevwori’s promises to deltans.
While urging agencies of government to adhered to the tenets of SERVICOM services in the state, Chief Funkekeme lauded the NEWMAP agency for improving the infrastructural and socio-economic development of the intervention communities in the state, saying SERVICOM office would continue to partner with the agency to achieve its goals.
The State Project Coordinator of NEWMAP/EIB, Mr. Benedict Nwaokocha, while presenting the success stories of the first phase of the NEWMAP project in the state, expressed gratitude to His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for ensuring the commencement of the second phase of NEWMAP/EIB through his approval for the release of counterpart funding for the project.
The NEWMAP Coordinator who presented the compendium of the success stories of the agency to Chief Funkekeme, promised the agency’s resolve to improve on the MORE agenda of the present administration.
