NEWMAP Projects: Okpanam Residents Hail Oborevwori, Pledge Cooperation
Stakeholders in Okpanam Community, including Landlords' Associations of Amachai/Ogbe-zoma and Vanguard Area Erosion Sites have appreciated the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for his gracious approval to the commencement of engineering designs and sudsequent civil works in the community.
The stakeholders gave the commendation when the management of Delta State Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (Delta NEWMAP), held a separate stakeholders' engagement meeting with the indigenes and residents living along the corridors of the two erosion sites to kick-start the formation of Community Association (CA) and Site Committee (SC) executives, being prerequisite for supervision and monitoring exercise of the projects, in Okpanam, during the weekend.
Okpanam: Ugoani Applauds Oborevwori Over Gully Intervention
The traditional ruler gave the commendation when he received, in audience, the management team of the Delta State Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project - EIB (Delta State NEWMAP), led by the Project Coordinator, Mr. Benedict Nwaokocha, who was in his Palace to brief the Ugoani the preparedness of the agency towards the commencement of the engineering design works and other environmental studies in Amachai/Ogbeozoma and Mable Hill Erosion Sites, preparatory to civil engineering works in the community.

Midoma/Iwerebo gully erosion site in Ika North-East LGA of Delta State. The gully of 20,900sqm in size and an average depth between 4m to 7m was rehabilitated.
Rehabilation of the Ogbe-Ukwe, in Ukwu-Nzu of Aniocha North LGA of Delta State. With gully size of 10,800sqm and an average depth of 3m to 9m.
Obomkpa
Remediation of 18,892sqm size of gully and average 2m to 7.5m in Obomkpa, Aniocha North LGA of Delta State.
